RIFLE SHOOTING

KIWI DEFENCE CLUB. The Kiwi Defence Rifle Club resumed prize-firing last Saturday afternoon. The second competition of No. 2 match was fired over 300, 500 and 600 yards—seven shots and a sighter. A heavy, dull light made visibility poor, especially at the 600 yards range, but. despite the conditions, some very good scores were registered, notably by Rifleman N. Jones (32 at 300 yards). Rifleman W. Mills (34 at 500 yards), and Rifleman J. Harding (32 at 600 yards). Next Saturday the annual match with the Oamaru Defence Rifle Club will be fired over the same ranges, the scores of the Kiwi members counting as the third competition of this match. Following are the scores with handicaps: A GRADE. 300 500 600
