The statue of Christ on the Corcovado Mountain, near Rio de Janeiro, has been completed. It is 98 feet high, and stands 2000 feet above sea level. Recently it was flood-lit by Marchese Marconi by means of a wireless signal from Italy, 5500 miles distant. The illumination made the figure of the statue appear to float in space, with ''arms outstretched in an attitude of benediction.
