NORTH-EAST HARBOUR NOTES
HOLIDAY-MAKERS. As in previous years, hundreds of city dwellers spent the New Year holidays at Macandrew and Broad Bays. The young folks were imbued with the carnival spirit, and spent many pleasant hours iu various forms of recreation. Accommodation at both bays was fully taxed throughout the holidays. Many visitors are still enjoying the pleasures of the North-East Harbour resorts. ACCIDENTS AVERTED. It has been reported that several accidents have been narrowly averted at some of the bends in the Beach road In the vicinity of Macandrew Bay during the holiday period. A large number of motor cars passed over the road before Christmas and at the New Year, the trafiic being particularly heavy on New Year’s Day. As a largo number of children will probably be present at Cosy Dell this afternoon, passing motorists would be well advised to be on the alert when driving along that section of the Beach road.
