WEST TAIERI CEMETERY

TO THE EDITOB. Sib, —Allow me to express my appreciation of_ the wonderful improvements enacted in the upkeep of the West Taieri Cemetery. Having on former occasions made a practice of visiting relations’ graves there, my wife and I were shocked at the sadly neglected state of the many plots and footpaths, but, on our recent visit throughout the holidays, we were agreeably surprised to see the wonderfully improved conditions. The latter reflect the greatest credit on the authorities and on the person in charge, and we are sure will be a great pleasure to the people who have relations interred there. If this should meet the eye of people who have plots there, and have been neglectful in their visits, we assure them it would be worth their while to stretch a point and see for themselves how their dear ones’ graves are being cared for.—l am, etc., Dunedin, January 8. J. Swan.
