Fourteen women figure among the Lord Mayors and Mayors chosen recently to serve for the ensuing municipal year in England and Wales. The only woman to he elected Lord Mayor is Alderman Miss Florence Farmer, a Socialist, at Stoke-on-Trent. She wore the same mayoral: chain as her father wore; when he was Mayor of Stoke.
