“ Swanson,” called Officer Cleo Beckwith, checking np on city gaol prisoners at Olympia, Washington. “ Ya,” answered two voices. “ Gus Swanson,” Beckwith amplified. “Ya,” the same two-mnu chorus answered. “ Are you Gus Swanson ?" the puzzled officer asked one of the prisoners. “ Ya.” “What’s your name?” he demanded of the other, “Gus Swanson.” “Which one’s in for being drunk?” Beckwith demanded. “Me,” came the chorus. Beckwith finally identified them by their ages. Gus the elder was 52, the other Gusheing 45.
