INCOME TAX PAYMENTS
THE INSTALMENT PLAN CABINET TO MAKE DECISION. “This is one of the questions which will be given consideration when Cabinet meets,” said the Prime Minister (Mr G. W. Forbes) to a representative of the Christchurch Press over the telephone on Wednesday night, when asked if the Government intended to make provision whereby, in view of the present economic position, progress payments of income tax might be allowed. “ Will an early statement be made concerning the matter? ” asked the reporter. “Yes,” answered Mr Forbes, adding that the Government was alive to the interest in the matter.
