OBITUARY

MR W. O’SULLIVAN A cable message received in Christchurch this week announced the death in Perth of Mr W. O’Sullivan, at one time well known in all parts of New Zealand, in theatrical circles. He joined his elder brother, Mr Tom Pollard (who died in Christchurch 10 years ago) in the management of Pollard’s Opera Company about 1898, acting as treasurer during the company’s tours of New Zealand, Australia, and South Africa. When the company eventually disbanded, about 1912, he settled down in Western Australia, and he had been a resident of Perth most of the time since then until his death. He had two daughters, one of whom lives in South Africa. The other, who was the wife of Mr Albert Cutts, the well-known Riccarton trainer, died some years ago.
