SHREWD WINS CHIEF EVENT (Per United Press Association.) PALMERSTON N., December 29. The Manawatu Racing Club’s sumraer mceting was concluded in fine Weather. There was a good attendance. The track was in good order. The totalisator handled £11,823 10s, as against £20,549 on the corresponding day last year. The total for the meeting was £51,746 10s, as against £80,345 last year.
