The first link" is to he opened by the Prince of Wales. It is the first part of the great .Clarence Dockpower station at Liverpool, which itself will cost £5,000,000. The dock was started in 1929, but will not be finished until 1940. The work will be one of the electrical wonders of the world. The power will begin at 100,000 kilowatts, rising to 350,000. By winter coal will be used at the rate of-1000 tons a day. The crane will lift 110 toils. For condensation the boiler house will use 15,000,000 gallons of water an hour, drawn from the Mersey and returned there through two ducts under the Trafalgar Docks.
