ROUND-UP IN BENGAL POLICE NET TIGHTENING (United Press Association.) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) CALCUTTA, December 27. The round-up of revolutionary suspects in Eastern Bengal is proceeding. Many were arrested, including eight men who were connected with the Chittagong armoury raid last year. A strong watch is being maintained on European clubs, re'staurants, business premises, and residences of prominent people, owing to the belief that the anarchists will make a desperate concerted attack before they are trapped bythe slowly-tightening police net. THE FRONTIER DISTRICTS. - 1 CONGRESS LEADERS ARRESTED. CALCUTTA, December 27. Pandit Nehru and his were placed in the Naidi Gaol. They will be tried next week. In consequence of their arrests Bombay Congressmen decided to abandon the public reception f arranged for Mr- Gandhi’s arrival from Europe to-morrow.. Following the arrest of Abdul Khali British and Indian troops marched through Peshawar, and large numbers were held in readiness outside; but at present there are no developments. The inhabitants generally are friendly disposed towards the troops. The wearing of the Red Shirt uniform is banned throughout the frontier districts. Over 400 Red Shirts have been arrested. The situation in the United Provinces has improved. The district authorities are hopeful of realising the rent arrears without difficulty, v A meeting at Poona presented Subhas Chandra Bose, thq Bengal Cohgress chief, with an address of welcome enclosed within the muzzle of a silver* revolver. POLICE AND RED SHIRTS. FATAL COLLISIONS. ' , i DELHI, December 27. Two colisions between the police and the frontier Red Shirts had fatal results. One occurred at Kohat and the other in a village near Peshawar. Cavalry was required to disperse the hostile crowds and the Red Shirts, who lost 12 killed and many wounded. Several police and troopers were injured. t
