CONCERT AT WAITATI
A concert party, organised by Miss Jimsie Fraser, submitted a varied programme of music, song, and story to an enthusiastic audience at the Public Hall, Waitati, on Saturday evening. The programme was opened with a community sing conducted by Mr R. Currie, assisted at the piano by Mr J. Kearsley, this being followed by an orchestral selection by Messrs Pilling, Schmelz, Haldane,.and Lyons. The following items were also given:—Vocal solos, Mrs D. Arthur; Seantruibhas, Miss Netty Puller; Comedy sketch in character, Mr W. Holmes; denucharaeter dance, Miss Anzac Patton; vocal solos, Mr E. Bolwell; patter act Miss Anzac Patton and Paul Reno; double hornpipe—Misses Daphne Allan and Reta Warren; aecordcon selections, Uncle Ben, or 4ZO; vocal solos, Mrs H. Bradley; pianoforte selections, Mr J. Kearsley; double Irish hornpipe—Misses Netty Puller and Daphne Allan; concertina selections, Mr W. Holmes; exhibition sleight of hand display, Paul Reno; recitations, Miss Irene Arthur; step dance, Miss Netty Pullar; vocal solos, Uncle Ben; fancy character dance, Miss Anzac Patton; vocal solo, Piper John Yardley; orchestral selection. Miss Jimsie Fraser's orchestra. At the conclusion of the concert Miss Jimsie Fraser and her party were heartily thanked for the entertainment, the proceeds of which would go towards augmenting the funds of the Girl Guide movement. The official accompanist was Mr J. Kearsley, and Piper John Yardley supplied the bagpipe music. After supper dancing was indulged in until midnight.
