BANDIT “PUNTERS’” SCHEME
CHICAGO, July 30
Four bandits who backed a jockey named George Ellis and his mount to win lost their money at the Latonia track. The only way of getting even they Vould think of was to take it from the" jockey himself. So they surprised Ellis and his wife in their apartment and took £ISOO in cash and jewels. “You must ride ’em to win, George,” one exclaimed. “We wouldn’t have robbed you if we could have got it at the track.” \
