The following are summaries of the reports to be presented at the meeting of the City Council on Wednesday night:— LIBRARY COMMITTEE.

The neiv tenant has given very satisfactory service in the Rest Room, and is in a position to run the kiosk under very satisfactory conditions. GENERAL COMMITTEE.

The General Committee will recommend that the parking place for private cars in Dowling street be reconstituted a parking place for night time use only. There have been numbers of complaints respecting the position of this park, and it has now become so congested and takes up such a large portion of the street that ordinary traffic in the street has become seriously inconvenienced, and to a certain extent endangered. Concerning the bus service to Mosgie! the committee will report:—“ln terms of instructions from the council your committee has considered the representations by Mr A. M. Finnic respecting the proposed alterations in the time table of his bus service from Dunedin to Mosgiel on Sundays. The whole matter has been fully reviewed and your committee is confirmed in its opinion that it would be quite inadvisable to agree to the time table as proposed by the applicant. Past experience in the running of the bus services on the south route has indicated that it is essential that a sufficient gap should be provided in the time table to obviate the possibility of the buses of the two services running practically together from the same points. The requisite gap is provided in the committee’s former recommendation, and the same is, therefore, accordingly resubmitted, viz.: That the application from Mr A. M. Finnic for a service from Dunedin to Mosgiel on Sundays and special occasions be granted, subject to the proposed time table being amended as under, viz.:—From Dunedin: Bus scheduled for 4.45 p.m.— To leave at 5.10 p.m. From Mosgiel: Bus scheduled for 3.45 p.m.—To leave at 4 p.m. Bus scheduled for 8.30 p.m.—To leave at 9 p.m. ’" WORKS COMMITTEE.
