BOXING OFFICIALS ROBBED ACCUSED COMMITTED FOR SENTENCE. (Per United Press association.) CHRISTCHURCH, July 17. A story of the disappearance of the takings at the Kaikoura boxing tournament on June 3 was told to the magistrate to-day when Leonard Carpenter, ao-ed 28, a resident of Kaikoura, pleaded guilty to the theft of a leather bag containing £39, the property of the Marlborough Boxing Association. Ih police said that the bag was stolen when the attention of the man who was in charge of it was diverted to the boxing bouts. Later the accused was arrested on another count, and a search at his house revealed the bag. The accused was remanded for sentence.
