OTAGO RUGBY LEAGUE

MEETING OF EXECUTIVE The weekly meeting of the Executive Committee of the Otago Rugby League was held last night, the president (Mr T. M. Gillies) in the chair. In reply to an inquiry regarding the possibility of an Auckland representative team visiting Otago, a letter was received from the Auckland League stating that discussion of this matter had been deferred, and that the Otago League would be advised when a decision had been arrived at.—Received. A telegram was received from the secretary of the New Zealand League suggesting that a trial game should be played on July 25 to enable the selector to choose players for the South Island team.—lt was decided to reply stating that a match could be arranged for the suggested date, but pointing out that the Otago League should be informed who the selector would be, and also that it should have a voice in the final selection of the players from Otago. DRAW FOR SATURDAY. The following is the draw for Saturday’s matches:—First Grade.—City v. Christian Brothers, Caledonian Ground, 2.45 p.m. (Mr G. Blazey); Pacific v. Athletic, Oval, 2.45 p.m. (Mr A. Watt). Reserve Grade. —Christian Brothers v. Athletic, Caledonian Ground, 1.30 p.m. (Mr T. O’Connor).
