During the week-end burglars entered the office of Messrs R. M'Lean and Co., in the main street, removing the safe. There is a blacksmith’s shop at the rear of the premises, and cold chisels and a sledge hammer were used, portion of the safe being broken apart and the sura of £6 18s stolen. The safe weighs three hundredweight, indicating that more than one person was implicated. Entry was apparently gained from the rear of the workshop, a broken window being discovered. WELLINGTON, June 15. Zooming, spinning, looping, rolling diving and dropping bombs at a target, the pilots of the Wellington Aero Club entertained more than a thousand people at the Rongotai Airport on Saturday afternoon, wllen the club’s first competitions were held. The result of the competitions were as follow: —Landing (Lloyd Cup): L. Taylor 1, C. C. Waite 2, E. J. Lloyd 3. Aerobatic contest (Stellin Cup): Waite 1,. C. M. Duthie 2, Taylor 3. Bombing: H. Gardiner 1, E. J. Lloyd 2. Best pilot of the year (Gibson Cup) : Duthie. Among those present were the Director of Air Services (tving-commander S. GrantDalton) and Elight-lieutenant A. de T. Neville.
