FRENCH COMMUNISTS

RIOTING IN ROUBAIX THE STREETS BARRICADED (United Press Association.) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) PARIS, June 14. A message from Roubaix states that there was a recrudescence of rioting, when 300 Communists, whom the police had prevented from demonstrating, reassembled in another part of the city, where they smashed street lamps and looted the shop windows of their contents. They barricaded the streets and stoned the firemen who were attempting to de--stroy the barricades. Later the Communists wrecked motor showrooms and dragged the cars into the streets, where they were set on fire. Cavalry, on arriving to disperse the mob, received a shower of missiles, which injured three of the mounted men. The rioting continued until dawn. Forty arrests have been made. MOB OUT OF HAND. SEVERAL SHOPS SET ON FIRE. PARIS, June 14. The Roubaix mob finally numbered 1000. The chief of police called on them to disperse. The Communists replied with volleys of cobble-stones. One struck the police chief, who was severely injured. Mounted police repeatedly charged, until 3 o’clock in the morning. The mob set fire to several shops and prevented the firemen from extinguishing the fires.
