—Milwaukee, formerly famous as the biggest beer-producing centre in America, now claims to have the largest school in the world. This is a six-storey building with 12,000 day and 9000 evening students. It has its own bakery, barbers’ saloon, electrical, printing, painting and decorating, and machine shops, and a foundry. There are 237 teachers.
