WANAKA NOTES

CENTRAL OTAGO

(From Odr Own Correspondent.) PEMBROKE, June 15.

THE WEATHER.

The weather during the past week was mild and open, with no frost. Two heavy showers during the week have cleared a good deal of snow from the lower levels, ncessitating the keeping of boundary on some stations to prevent the sheep from getting too far back. HAWEA-WANAKA ROAD.

A big slip on the Hawea-Wanaka road between Boundary and Sheepskin Creeks, about six miles from Makarora, will hold up the completion of the road for about three months. It was expected that the road would be open for traffic as far as Makarora about September next, but it is now thought that it will take until December to complete. GOLF.
