MEET AT HALFWAY BUSH. j ' - A large number of hunters and race- ' horses assembled on the Wingatui clay road prior to the Otago Hunt Club’s meet on Saturday. Apart from the 23 horses which qualified, thehe were no fewer than 21 others whose riders attended the meet for an outing. The run was a- very tricky one, and several horses had trouble at different parts. After the first mile the field was very drawn out, and, from a spectator’s point of view, the hunt wasf not very interesting as, owing to the nature of the country, only four of the 16 fences could be seem There were three gorse hedges, which were jumped by al] the horses in good l style, and a stone wall was also cleared well, but, strangely enough, it was the rail fences which gave all the trouble. - • Those who qualified werd:— The master (Mr J.
