MANY SAILINGS CANCELLED ! COMPANIES’ HEAVY LOSSES. LONDON, June 14. (Received June 15, at 0.30 a.m.) OWing to the serious depression some of the largest shipping companies operating in the North Atlantip, including the Cunard and the White Star lijies, have cancelled nearly 40 sailings. Not a single one of the 16 giant liners in the transatlantic trade showed a profit during 1930, while the costs were so heavy, that many of the round trips showed a loss -of £20,000 each. «t
