COMMUNICATION 'THREATENED i, (Peb United Press v WELLINGTON, June 13. .Warm rains on top of heavy falls of snow on the ranges caused the Hutt River to rise last night, with the result that further erosion took place in Taita Gorge on the main road via Wairarapa, , there'being now a bare 12ft at the rowest part between the edge over the water and the high bluff on the landward side. The protective work which was going on is not badly affected, however. It is in the nature of foundation work, and the damage is taking place above it. There is serious danger, however, of another flood severing communication.
