NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the St. Kilda Borough Council pursuant to the powers vested in it by ‘‘The Municipal Corporations Act, 1920,” and all other powers enabling it in that behalf, will, at a Special Meeting of the Council to be held in the Council Chambers, St. Kilda, on Monday, Twenty-ninth day of June, 1931, make and levy the following Rates and Fees for the period, commencing the Ist day of April, 1931, and ending on the 31st day of March, 1932, namely— A GENERAL RATE, under Section 77 of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1920,” of Fivepence (sd) in the Pound (£) on the Rateable Value on the Valuation Roll of all Rateable Property within the Borough of St. Kilda. A SPECIAL RATE, of Five-eighths of a penny"'(fid) in the Pound (£) on\the Rateable Value' on the Valuation Roll of all Rateable Property within the Borough of St. Kilda will be as usual levied and collected to provide Interest on Municipal Loan. , SPECIAL RATE. —The annually recurring Special Rate of One Penny and Three-sixteenths of a Penny (1 3-16 d) in the Pound (£) on the Rateable Value on the Valuation Roll of all Rateable Property within the Borough'.of St. Kilda, of ■which Seven-eighths of One Penny (fid) will be levied and collected to provide for Sinking Fund on Loan and Interest on the Amount Borrowed of the said Loan. , A HOSPITAL AND CHARITABLE AID RATE, under Section 62 of “The Hospitals and Charitable Institutions Act. 1920,” for the year commencing the let day of April, 1931, and ending on the 31st day of March, 1932, a Rate of One Penny and . WATER RATE, under Section 84 of “ The Municipal Corporations Act, 1920,’ in respect to ordinary supply, (a) Upon all Lands and Buildings to which water is supplied a rate of One Penny and Nineteen-twentieths of One Penny (1 19-20 d) in the Pound (£)> on the Unimproved'Value not exceeding the equivalent of a Rate of One Penny (Id) in the Pound (£) on the Capital Value of such Lands and Buildings, but so that where such a Rate would be less than .Ten Shillings (10s) a Rate of Teh Shillings (10s) shall be made and levied; (b) Upon all Lands and Buildings to which water can be, but is not, supplied situated within One Hundred Yards of the Water Works, a Rate not exceeding One ' Half of the Rates above-mentioned. (c) On all Buildings used as stores or warehouses or any purpose other than as Dwelling Houses a Rate not exceeding one-half of the Rates mentioned in Paragraph (a) hereof. ' GENERAL SEWERAGE RATES, under “ The Dunedin District Drainage and Sewerage Act, 1900,” and its Amendments, for the period commencing the Ist day of April, 1931, 'and ending 31st day of March. 1932-, as follows: — 1. Upon every Sewered Property a Rate called the General Sewerage Rate of Fourpenee and two-fifteenths of a Penny (4 2-15 d) in the Pound (£) on the Unimproved Value of such Property. 2. Upon every Unsewered Property a Rate of Twopence and One-fifteenth of a Penny (2 l-15d) in the Pound (£) on the Unimproved Value of such Property. EXTRAORDINARY WATER SUPPLY, under Section 82 of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1920,” as set out in the Borough By-law a charge of One Pound (£1) will be made for the first and Ten Shillings ’(10s) for each other Water Closet in Private Houses and in Hotels Five Pounds (£5) for the First Water Closet and One Pound Ten Shillings (£1 10s) for each other.
