GOOD TEMPLARY
The weekly meeting of the Rescue Lodge, No, 105, was held in the Oddfellows’ Hall, King Edward street, Kensington, on Tuesday. Bro. W.G. Ties, chief templar, presided over a good attendance of members and visitors from vanous lodges. One candidate was initiated and cordially welcomed into the Order. Reports of the Juvenile Temple showed that it was in a strong position. Sick reports showed that members were still laid aside with sickness, but were making good progress towards recovery. After the usual business all took part in general harmony. Items were also rendered by Sis. T. Pauli (recitation) and Bro. E. J. lies (song). The Silver Star Juvenile Temple, No. 9, held its weekly meeting in the Good Templar Hall, Harrop .street, with Sis, Raynor, A.S.J.W., in charge. C.T. Bro. Ken Russell presided oyer a good attendance of members. Sis. A. Steedman, P.C.T., of the Hope of Dunedin Lodge, visited officially, and gave a short address on “ Temperance.” Bro. J. Moody and Sis, Mavis Raynor were the prizewinners in the essay competition. Parlour games were played, and Bro. South, sen., gave the children their usual temperance lesson. The Hope of Dunedin Lodge, No. 155, held its weekly meeting in the Good Templar Hall, Harrop street, on Wednesday. C.T. Bro. Clarence South presided over a good attendance of members. Visitors were present from Rescue and Hope of Caversham Lodges. Reports were received from District Lodge, and one on an official visit to Waitati. Sis. Steedman, P.C.T., gave a report on the juvenile branch. A sawing competition resulted: Sis. G. South 1, Sis. Raynor 2.
