DON’T NEGLECT A COMMON CASE OP PILES. IT MAY LEAD TO SERIOUS RESULTS. —Making a sound like hail pattering against a window pane, the noise of atoms recently was broadcast by radio. The sound produced was that of helium atoms leaving the radioactive metal uranium and bombarding a small piece of metal. A piece of uranium no larger than a sixpence was used, the atoms leaving it faster than the fire of a machine-gun.
