Captain Coll M'Donald, .chairman of the Otago Harbour Board, came to Dunedin on Saturday from the north. Mr W. Easton returned to Dunedin on Saturday after attending the meeting of the United Press Association in Eotorua. Mr R. 3. Gilmour, managing director of the Southland Times, was a passenger by the through express on Saturday on his way to Invercargill. Mr Jqhn Tonkin was a passenger for Lyttelton by Saturday's express. Messrs j" Abbott and J. H. Pledger were passengers for Auckland by the express on Saturday. Mr G. R. Ritchie left by the express on Saturday morning en route for Auckland. Mr J.. L. Salmond was a passenger by the express on Saturday morning en route to Wellington. Mr J. S : Hislop and Mr G. W. MacLean left by the express on Saturday morning en route to Wellington on a business trip. Mr F. Lee was a passenger by the express on Saturday morning en route to Wellington. Mr A. Clothier left by the express on Saturday morning en route to Wellington. Mr P. Gilfedder arrived from Invercargill by the express on Saturday morning. At the United Congregational Church last evening, Miss Rose Thomas, who is about to be married, was met by members of the choir, Sunday school, and congregation, in whose name the Rev. James M. Smeeth offered congratulations and good wishes, and presented her with a memento of goodwill. Testimony was borne by him and other speakers to the excellent work done by Miss Thomas in the Sunday school, choir, and other church activities. Miss Thomas expressed her appreciation of the token of goodwill and the kindly references to her work.
