ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
PINNED UNDER TRAM. (Peg United Pkess Association.) AUCKLAND, February 20. Terrible injuries were received by a middle-aged man, J. Henderson, reported to be a resident of Howick, when he was knocked down by an Auckland tram this morning. He was pinned underneath, and the tram had to be jacked up to extricate him. Eyewitnesses formed the impression that he was deaf. His condition is critical. ■ DEATH BY POISONING. The inquest on the body of Robert Leslie Proctor, a married man, 40 years of age, who was found dead at the rear of his shop in Princes street on February 12 was concluded before Mr J. R. Bartholomew, S.M., yesterday afternoon. After evidence had been given by Dr D’Ath the coroner returned a verdict of suicide by poisoning.
