SAN FRANCISCO, February 19. —Sailed: Waihemo, for Auckland; Monowai, for Wellington. The. Surrey berthed at Port Chalmers yesterday morning, and late last night had taken in 4500 bales of wool. This morning she will leave for Bluff to finish loading, and on Wednesday will sail from the Southland port for London, Avonmouth, Liverpool, and Glasgow. The Federal Company’s steamer Surrey arrived at Port Chalmers yesterday nforning from Wellington. She will load wool and other products for London, Avonmouth, Liverpool, and Glasgow, and will sail to-day for Bluff to complete loading. The New Zealand Shipping Company advises that some of the passengers of the Rangltata, which arrived at Auckland on Thursday, left by train the same night for Dunedin. The C. and D. Lino has received cabled advice that the Port Victor left Sydney at 9 p.m. on Monday for Opua, where she arrived yesterday to complete her Homeward loading. She will subsequently complete at Auckland, Gisborne, Napier, Wanganui, and Wellington. The vessel is due at Wellington on March 11, and Is scheduled to clear that port finally on March 13 for London, via the Panama canal. The Commonwealth and Dominion Line motor ship Port Fremantle was due at Auckland from Gisborne yesterday to complete loading New Zealand produce for England to the agency of Heather, Roberton, Ltd. She Is scheduled to sail for London, via Panama, next Tuesday afternoon. To complete her Homeward loading, the Federal steamer Northumberland arrived at Wellington on Wednesday morning from Wanganui. She Is scheduled to clear Wellington finally to-day for London, Avonmouth, Liverpool, and Glasgow, via the Panama canal. The Herminius, which has been loading dairy produce and frozen meat at .Port Chalmers, left last evening for Timaru, Wanganui roadstead, and 'Wellington to complete loading for England. The Commonwealth and Dominion’s Line’s motor ship Port Dunedin left Port Chalmers yesterday for Wellington to complete loading for Home ports. The coastal steamer Breeze is due here early this morning from Wellington, and will sail this evening for Timaru, Lyttelton, WelIngton, and Wanganui.

The Opihi will leave Wellington at noon today for Dunedin direct. She will arrive hero on Monday morning, and will load the same day for Oamaru, Timaru,. Lyttelton, Wellington, Nelson, and New Plymouth. The Katoa is expected to leave Sydney to-day for Dunedin direct, and should arrive here on February 27. She will then proceed to Lyttelton, Timaru, return to Dunedin, and then go on to Bluff en route for Sydney. The Karepo will load at Auckland about next Wednesday for Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin, and Timaru. The Waimarlno will load at Dunedin on Tuesday for Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, and Auckland. 1 COPTIC DUE TO-DAY. The Shaw, Savill Company advises that the motor ship Coptic will arrive at Port Chalmers this morning, and will load wool, frozen meat, and dairy produce for London. She will sail about February 23 for Wellington to complete loading. . RANGITIKI AT PANAMA. The New Zealand Shipping Company advises that the Rangitlki reached Panama on Thursday morning. The vessel left Auckland, en route for London, on January 31. — - 1 PORT PIRIE DUE TO-MORROW. To continue discharge of general cargo from New York and bitumen from Tampico, the Commonwealth and Dominion Line’s steamer Port Pirie will arrive at Dunedin to-morrow morning, via Auckland, Wellington, and Lyttelton. PORT ALMA ARRIVING. The Commonwealth and Dominion Line’s motor ship Port Alma, which left Suva on Tuesday afternoon direct from Port Chalmers, is expected at the Heads to-morrow evening, ..or early on Monday morning. Site will sail about Wednesday for Lyttelton and Bluff to complete discharge, and will then proceed to northern ports for Homeward loading. HALERIC ARRIVES. To complete discharge of her cargo of case oil from Port Arthur (Texas) and San Pedro the Texas Oil Company’s chartered steamer Haleric arrived at Dunedin yesterday afternoon from Lyttelton. She will later proceed to Australia. THE PORT WAIKATO. The intercolonial motor ship Port Waikato left Whangarel on Tuesday for Opotikl to unload cargo. From Opotikl the vessel will proceed to Tauranga to load railway material for Waikokopu. Afterwards she Is to go to Napier to unload 400 poles from Australia. ZEALANDIC WITH WOOL. The Shaw, Savill, and Albion Company’s motor vessel Zealandic reached Bluff on Wednesday afternoon after a fast run from Lyttelton. She loaded 4000 bales of wool at Bluff, and on completion sailed direct for England. BENMOHR ARRIVES HOME. The Benmohr, which left Port Chalmers on January 5 with a cargo of wool, arrived at London on February 15. MALOLO’S CHANGE OF COLOUR. Before leaving San Francisco on January 10 on the first trip In the newly-inaugurateil San Franclsco-Honolulu-Los Angeles service, the Matson liner Malolo had the buff colouring which she bore when she visited New Zealand last year changed to white. It was the first time a Matson liner had gone to sea painted white. THE STRATHNAVER LAUNCHED. According to cable advices received from London, the Peninsular and Oriental Steam Navigation Company, Ltd.’s, new vessel Strathnaver (20,000 tons), which will be used in the passenger trade between England and Australia, was launched at Vickers-Armstrong, Ltd., construction works at Barrow-in-Furness at mid-day on February 5. A large crowd witnessed the ceremony. This was the largest hull yet launched from, the yard. At the moment that Lady Janet Bailey, daughter of the Earl of Inchcape, chairman of the P. and O. Company, christened the ship with a bottle of Australian Burgundy it started to move to the accompaniment of loud cheers. The Strathnaver will leave London for Australia on her maiden voyage ; on October 2. TOFUA WITH FRUIT. Generally fair weather, but heavy rain at Suva, was experienced by the Tofua, which arrived at Auckland on Monday morning. The vessel berthed at Queen’s wharf to land passengers, mail, and cargo from Tonga, Samoa, and Fiji, Included in the cargo was about 6000 cases of fruit from Suva. She is to sail on her return trip to the Islands this morning. OTAIO IN PORT. The New Zealand Shipping Company’s now motor ship Otaio arrived at Dunedin yesterday morning on her maiden voyage from Liverpool and berthed at Victoria wharf. The vessel left Liverpool on January 4 after loading at Avonmouth and Glasgow, and experienced fine weather to Colon, where she arrived on January IT. She cleared Balboa on January 18, anil met with fair weather across the Pacific. The Otaio will complete discharge at Dunedin. She will load at Port Chalmers on February 25, and will sail on February 27 for Wanganui, New Plymouth, Lyttelton, and Wellington. She will sail from the last-named port finally on March 21, for London, and west coast ports of the United Kingdom. Captain G. F.
