NEW ZEALAND DIAMONDS.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —Under the' above . heading your correspondent, Mr M'Farlane, writes of the quality of the diamond found in the North Island. Some years ago I was shown a quantity- of what was then called “New Zealand diamond.” It was discovered in the South Island by a person who understood it was of no value. Perhaps an analysis would prove, as Mr M'Farlane claims in his case, that it is genuine diamond. My informant said there was a great quantity of these stones where the sample was taken from. —I am, etc., J. M.
