STRAWBERRIES FOR BEAUTY.
Beauty specialists arc exploiting the many useful properties of vegetable extracts. The latest invention of one Is an astringent cleansing cream made from fresh strawberries. Several hothouses are given up to the cultivation and forcing of strawberries for this purpose, and each berry is separately examined in the beauty laboratory. “ Powder by weight ” is another idea introduced by this London beauty specialist, whose new showrooms in Regent street were opened recently. The heaviest powder is suggested for the use of middle-aged women and for business girls who are kept indoors all day. The thick, close texture of the powder is claimed to disguise wrinkles and keep the skin cool and “ matt ” in the hottest room.
A medium-weight powder is intended for the average skin, and is suitable for most people, while the lightest powder, a large box of which weighs barelv an ounce, has been 1 invented for women with exceptionally fine and very sensitive skins.
