NEW CUNARD LINER
OF GIGANTIC PROPORTIONS. LAUNCHING NEXT FEBRUARY. t (British Official Wireless.) (United Press Association.) (By Electric Telegraph-^-Copyright.) RUGBY, February 17. The new 70,000-ton Cunarder may be ready for launching at the end of next February if the present expectations of John Brown and Co., the builders, are realised. Work both in the Clydeside yard and in the factories and foundries in the various industrial centres is progressing rapidly, with day and night shifts. The transport of special parts from places as far distant as Darlington invites problems for which many solutions have been found. The rudder weight is 150 tons, requiring a specially prepared vessel to carry it from Middlesborough to the Clyde. The gigantic size of the new liner is such that of the funnels would contain the bulls of four steamers of the first Cunard fleet.
