EXPORT DAIRY PRODUCE.

INSURED AGAINST EARTHQUAKE. DAMAGE. (Per United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, February 17. Dairy produce for export damaged by the earthquake is covered by insurance, according to a statement supplied by the Dairy Produce Board. The board, which has been inundated with inquiries from dairy producers, says: “A statement is desired as to 'whether damage to dairy produce by reason of the earthquakes is covered by a marine insurance policy arranged by the hoard for the insurance of all butter and cheese exported from New Zealand. The board’s policy insures export dairy produce frojp the time the milk or cream enters the dairy factory until the produce reaches its destination overseas, and thereafter as arranged, against all and every risk whatsoever, and loss from defective condition from any cause whatsoever, with the exception that milk or cream is insured against fire only. It is perfectly clear, therefore, that damage or loss entailed by reason of earthquakes by butter or cheese intended for export is recoverable. The board’s present contract of insurance operates up to August 31, 1931.
