Romance is connected with the estate, valued at £22,896, with net personality £8975, which was shown the other day to have been left by Mr William Robbens, of Zeeland, Kirklcy Park road, Lowestoft. Mr Robbens started life as a cook’s boy at the age of 11, and worked himself up to become founder and head of Williams Robbens > and Sons, smack owners. He was chairman of the New Mutual and Total Loss Insurance Company, the Boiler Engine and Small Damage Insurance Societies, was at one time chairman of the Lowestoft Trawler Owners’ Federation, and was for some years a member of the Town Council.
