THE DUNEDIN JOCKEY CLUB.

TO THE EDITOR. Sir,—A “ mu"’s ” advice to the Dunedin Jockey Club which it would be wise to adopt before it is too late is to reduce the admission to the grand stand to ss, reduce the admission to the public stand to Is, reduce the ladies’ tickets to the grand stand to Is fid, reduce the railway fare from Dunedin to Wingatui to Is second class return and Is fid first class return. These prices are all the accommodation provided is worth when it is compared with that in Canterbury, Wellington, and Auckland. Then, the club should run a 5s totalisator both inside and out. If the management cannot see the wisdom of this it is heading for financial trouble for certain, and cannot see the writing on the wall. This club has no consideration for the “ mugs ” who keep the game going. The members’ stand being burnt down, the management coolly appropriated two-thirds of the stand and charges the_ public an exorbitant price and appoints an arrogant official to bully the public who may seek to use the stand when it is half empty and the club’s members do not require it. If the club can get the public it will get the revenue. indications are plain that the “mugs” are full up of excessive charges, poor racing, and poor accommodation.—l am, etc., Full Up.
