FARMING IN IDA VALLEY
TO THE EDITOR, Sis,—l think the performance of two brothers farming together in Ida Valley on what was comparatively poor country before the water came along, speaks wonders for irrigation, and, in my opinion, is a record for the district. The feat which may interest you is as follows: Three hundred and eighty ewes were grazed all year on 200 acres, except for a few weeks on turnips. From them 135 per cent, of lambs were marked, and yesterday a fat lamb buyer took, first draft off the mothers, 446 lambs, which he has bought expecting them to average over 371 b freezing weight. Can you beat that?—l am, etc., G. C. B. January 23.
