A DARING BURGLAR.
SEVERAL PLACES ENTERED, (Per United Press Association.! WAIPUKURAU, January 24. A triple burglary, characterised by the coolest audacity, was perpetrated during the hours of darkness last night, when a Baby Austin sedan valued at £220 was stolen from Turner and Butler’s garage and showroom, also £3 in cash from the till in the office, goods and clothing of the value of £l2 from Baird’s (drapers), and 10s from Frank Boyle’s garage, where an attempt was also made unsuccessfully to obtain petrol from the bowser. The thief made a clean getaway in the sedan. The police are investigating. In each instance the burglar gained entrance by forcing the Yale locks on the doors with a jemmy, the marks of which are discernible.
