LEITH FLOOD PROTECTION.
TO THE EDITOR, Slßj—lt is no wonder that complaints are being started regarding the report promised upon Leith flood protection. It is nearly two years since the flood occurred, and the same promise is always given, “We hope to have the report shortly, 5 ’ or words to that effect. Surely the delay cannot be due to the council staff being too busy using the telephones and motor cars provided and paid for by the City Council. I feel sure there is very little to report about the Leith. The stream must either be walled or deepened, and I would suggest that the council call for tenders “ to make the Leith safe,” and I am certain the practical man would come along with “ the goods.”—l am, etc., Flood Sufferer.
