REFUSE AT ST. CLAIR BEACH.
TO THE EDITOR. SIR, —The St. Clair Beach directly in front of the pavilion is during- these warm days much used by sun - bathers, picnic parties etc. It is also used by visitors as a rubbish dump. Just now it is strewn with tins, boxes, bags, newspapers, decayed fruit, sandwiches, plum pudding, etc. Might not the Domain Board or City / ' , ->uncil appoint a man to go round the 1,, mips and give short lectures or instructions to the people? Some kind of a receptacle is required, or course, to hold the spoil. Ten life-savers have, I believe, been appointed special beach constables, with power to correct costumes, etc. Perhaps their power might be extended to include the correct disposal of refuse which now smells to high heaven.—l am, etc., One Kakino.
