Thompson scored 275, not out, Benstead 52, and Hurwood 47. Hunt took four wickets for 128, Chilvera two for 209, and Stewart two for 83. Fairfax did not get a solitary wicket. New South Wales in their second innings have lost five wickets for 159 (Jackson 53, M'Cabe 53). The match was remarkable for phenomenal scoring, Thompson's achievement caused the wildest cheering, and the spectators carried him shoulder high. Queensland won by 121 runs on the first innings.
