QUEENSLAND CANEFIELDS
INFLUX OF FOREIGNERS. SEVERAL INJURED IN CLASH. (United Press Association.) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) BRISBANE, December 1. (Received Dec. 2, at 0.15 a.m.) A serious clash occurred in the vicnity of Fully between British and foreign nationals, who are engaged in the sugar fields, many being injured. The combatants are all cane workers. Sticks, stones, bottles, knives, and pistols were used. George Norris has a wound in his chest 10 inches long, Harry Robertson has a knife stab in the back, an Italian has a bullet wound in the leg, and an Italian woman is suffering from a wound in the head. Five other Italians were treated in hospital for cuts and abrasions. The clash was the outcome of bad feeling due to the everincreasing influx’ of foreigners.
