MR MONTAGU NORMAN
VOYAGE INTERRUPTED. RECALLED TO LONDON. (United Press Association.) .(By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) LONDON, November 29. Following a wireless message recalling him, Mr Montagu Norman (governor of the Bank of England), who was travelling aboard the Bremen to New York ■was transferred to the Majestic at Cherbourg, whence he returned to Southampton, and hastened to London, No explanation is given of the reason for Mr Norman’s recall.
A SIMPLE EXPLANATION. LONDON, November 30. (Received Dec, 1, at 5.5 p.m.) It transpires that Mr Montagu Norman had no intention of go in" to America. He was anxious to" have a farewell talk with Mr Harrison, Governor of the Federal Reserve system of -America, who was sailing by the Bremen, and he decided to accompany him to Cherbourg, He transferred to the Majestic according to schedule.
