LIME AND FERTILISERS.
CARRIAGE ON RAILWAYS. Proposed increase remitted. (Peb United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, November 20 in a statement issued to-day bv the Minister of Railways (Mr W. A. Veitch) it is announced that in view of the low prices of the primary products and of other special circumstances which exist in connection with the affairs of the primary producers, and notwithstanding the urgent necessity for strengthening the finances of the Railways Department, Cabinet has decided that no increase shall be charged to users under regulations 13 and 41 in the case of agricultural lime. The con--s®™' to users will amount to 153.000 per annum, while in the case of artificial manures and raw material the concession to users will amount to £122,000 annually. The statement expresses the hope that those who benefit will realise the urgent necessity of giving the railways their patronage in return.
