A grape vine that grows its own picking.bags is one of the familiar sights of Jamaica’s coast. The vine, or rather tree, for it attains a height of some 30 feet and is strong enough for' boys to climb, is to be found on the'white coral beaches, and is usually known as the sea grape. The leaves grow about as large as breakfast plates, and these the bathers pick, twist into funnel shape and fill with the grapes as they gather them. The grapes themselves are largely skin and seed, but ' possess an agreeable flavour.
