i’lie members of the J. C. Williamson comedy Company again presented the eyer-popular musical comedy, “The Belle of New York/’ before a packed house at Mis Majesty s Theatre on Saturday night. A large audience also witnessed the matinee performance in the afternoon. ihe audience’s appreciation of the story, the music, the dancing, and the spectacular effects was expressed in an enthusiastic manner. The singing was listened to with delight. “The Belle of New York, entrusted to Mr Jim Gerald, was given in such a convincing manner that his performance was greeted with rapturous applause. Miss Hobbs and Mr Gerald were responsible for a number of dancing turns which were pleasing and entertaining. Other song numbers and dances, and also the orchestral music, added greatly to the enjoyment of the performance.
