MOTOR CARS COLLIDE.
THREE PERSONS INJURED. (Per United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, October 21. Two motor cars collided shortly after 8 o clock to-night in the Ngabauranga Gorge at the identical spot where Mr and Mrs Cooper, of Johnsonville, were killed in a collision a few weeks ago. Three people were injured and were removed to the Wellington Hospital. It is believed that their injuries are not very serious. The injured people are:— Mrs Alfred E. Earl, contused wound on right eye, slight injuries to back, and shock. Mrs Kane, head injuries and shock. Mr A. Kane, a number of small cuts from broken glass and shock. Mr and Mrs Earl, who wore accompanied by Mr and Mrs Kane, had come from Napier, and were on the way to an hotel in Wellington, Mr Earl having disposed of his farming interests in Napier. Everything went well until they were in the gorge. The steering gear went wrong and the car became uncontrollable. At the same time Mr H. Rogers, of Wellington, was proceeding up the hill towards the corner. He noticed at once that there was something wrong with the other car, which was coming over the road. He pulled well over to the left just over the bridge, and had almost stopped when the oncoming car crashed into the side of his car. The two cars were badly damaged and came to a stop within a couple of yards of the bank.
