OAMARU HOSPITAL.

TO THE EDITOB Sib,- -The trustees seem alarmed at the largely-increased, number of patients, and so are the County ratepayers, who are more deeply interested, and would like to, obtain the following information, which they think they are enticed to from their representatives on the board:—-Monthly expenditure and inmonthly capital expenditure; number of in-patients per month; number of friendly society patients per month, and their daily contribution for maintenance; the trustees’ explanation, if any, or this large influx of patients; balance of hank accounts, debtor, or creditor; total indebtedness, distinguished between town and country; number of employees on pay sheet and total pay per mensem; cost per , diem for each occupied patients’ bed during the month. i , The above may appear' a formidable list, but such information is more than likely laid before the board at its monthly meetings, and could, without much trouble, be supplied by its secretary to the, newspapers. Our Government is beginning to feel the pinch of this increased and increasing expenditure, and so are the county ratepayers, who have just received their demands for rates, and, with fallen prices for wool and all other ? redacts, don't feel particularly happy.— am, •etc., County Eatepayeu.
