Edward Kennedy, secretary of the Cooks’ and Stewards’ Union, for failure to make a return of his income tax for the past four years, was fined £5 on one charge and £2 on each of the others. George do Wolfe Mitchinson, on a similar charge, was fined £3. Arthur David Thomas, a labourer, for obtaining money and clothing valued at over £35 by false pretences and for the theft of a shotgun valued at £0 10s, was sentenced by Mr E.
