(Per United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, October 3. Edward Kennedy, secretary of the Cooks’ and Stewards’ Union, for failure to make a return of his income tax for the past four years, was fined £5 on one charge and £2 on each of the others. George do Wolfe Mitchinson, on a similar charge, was fined £3. Arthur David Thomas, a labourer, for obtaining money and clothing valued at over £35 by false pretences and for the theft of a shotgun valued at £0 10s, was sentenced by Mr E. Page, S.M., to four months’ imprisonment, the sentences to be concurrent. Thomas committed the frauds at Auckland, and the gun was stolen from the forestry camp near Rotorua *
