DUNEDIN PHILHARMONIC SOCIETY.
The Dunedin Philharmonic Society’s third concert will be held in the Concert Chamber of the Town Hall on Wednesday, October 15, when a very interesting programme will be presented, including the Miniature Symphony in C minor by Squarise the entr’acte from the music to “Nero,” by German, the overture to the opera. II Guarany, by Gomez, and the Chinese Intermezzo,, “ Sing Song Girl,” by Thiele, the programme concluding with Valsede concert by Galzownow, The Dunedin Philharmonic Society has been very fortunate in securing as one of the singers for its concert Madame Annette Chapman, who was a pupil of Professor Mane Hedmondt, of Liepzig, who had such famous pupils as Eleanor Geshardt and Tos Carlaforti. Madame Chapman has sung with great suecess in different parts of Australia and New Zealand, and has received most flattering reports in the newspapers. Critics described her as possessing a beautiful mezzo-soprano voice which was heard in three languages. The public can. therefore, look forward to i hearing a most charming singer at the next concert of the society. The other vocalist will be Miss Connie Poole, who is a promising local singer and the possessor of a very fine voice. The box plan j arrangements arc advertised.
