THE SOUVENIR CRAZE.
WORSE THAN STORMS. The giant airship RIOO returned to England at the end of her Canadian trip with an entirely new set of glassware. This fact was not due to crockery casualties on the voyage out, but to the untiring zeal of the Montreal souvenir hunters, who were allowed to inspect the ship during her stay at the mooring mast at St. Hubert’s. No object was too trifling for these collectors to annex,. but glass seemed to have a special attraction for them. Pieces of fabric from the torn port fir, which were thrown to the ground during repairs, were eagerly sought.
